United-Kingdom Countryman Cooper D engine who makes it

I've searched all over the place and I cannot see anywhere that confirms that the engine in the 112BHP diesel Cooper D All4 is in fact BMW, coming from an RCZ and the problems that brought with it, I don't want a repeat certainly with the engine.

The Mini salesman told me it was BMW but a friend who runs a Peugeot dealership said it was still a PSA engine but with BMW tweeks.

Any confirmation would be greatly appreciated or at least point me in the right direction.

Thanks
Rob.

Hmmmm Ineresting answer, any chance you can expand.

The reason I ask is I know that BMW have signed up again with PSA to produce more engines.

The answer is simple: It's a BMW engine; the same as a 116d with a shorter stroke.

The confusion comes from the following:
The old MINI diesel engine was PSA.
The petrol engines are a collaboration between BMW and PSA.

Cooper D sold!
