My countryman S has 3700 miles so far, is it necessary to have oil change?

you will get a lot of divergent opinions here

i did an oil/filter change myself after the breakin at about 1,800 miles, and another at 4,500 miles and my first "free" oil/filter change is coming up very soon at 8,100 miles per the OBC
