United-Kingdom Automatic gearbox

Hello new to this site but hoping someone might have the answer. i have the Countryman Cooper SD All 4 Auto gearbox.
When selecting either drive, reverse or from drive to reversve sometimes theres a large clunk/bank as the gearbox engages. It seems very hard and rough.
I've driven many auto cars and they are normally seamless when selecting drive. The shifter/gear selector is even stiff sometimes to select a drive.
Anyone else have similar problems ??
Thanks for any help

Maybe the idle revs are too high? Gearbox requires topping up? linkages need adjustment?

Next time you are in for service tell your service manager so they can check the ecu settings and reset the program, under warranty, so should be free.
