I agree with your comments greenland. However, MINI should not be advertising, claiming, and pricing their product as premium if they are only building them as average.
I would buy one of these tomorrow if I could agree that I would get what I pay for, but unfortunately, you currently can not. It has become a second job for me to research my next car purchase and it bugs the hell out of me that MINI can not deliver what it has told us. I want the MINI Countryman in my garage and I've even delayed my next car purchase to give MINI more time to step up to the big leagues but the future still looks foggy.
I really do hope MINI has a Happy 2013 and I start hearing more pros than cons about their products, but until then, I'll believe it when I see it. I think its fair we give anyone who visits this forum, who may be gathering their own information, a fair and unbiased review. Who knows, this feedback may even reach the desks of a salepersons, dealership, or a bean counter in the UK/Germany!
The Countryman S ALL4 is a great car but it could have been much better if only the MINI engineers did their homework and designed a proper engine/transmission for it. Instead, they pulled a classic General Motors and borrowed the parts from a 2500 lb MINI Hardtop, all in the name of keeping the beancounters happy.
