New member with Bluetooth question

Hi All, i sold my 7 year old Toyota FJ Cruiser and got my wife a 2014 Countryman S All4. I'll be driving her minivan for the next year ! Until that lease expires.

She has the Harmon Kardon stereo and we were able to pair up her Iphone 5 to the bluetooth. I tried to pair my Iphone 4 and my phone does not show the Mini on the bluetooth screen.

Is the Iphone 4 not compatible? Or does the stereo only allow 1 phone to pair?

I should add the both phones run IOS 7

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I believe that it can only pair with one phone at a time, even though you can pair multiple phones with it. You may have to shut off one phone's Bluetooth to get the other to join.

Hi, Zen. Thanks for your reply. I was alone in the Mini, my wife and her phone were nowhere near it.

I put in a call to the dealer to ask him as well.

You can find out if your phone is compatible here:
MINI.com - MINI Connectivity - Compatibility Check

It turned out that my HTC Desire X phone wasn't on the compatible list, so although it would pair, it wouldn't allow me to go through the phonebook to make calls. However, I noticed the other day that I can receive calls ok - I'm not sure if a software update has been applied.

You may be able to do a software update yourself, although it's really to support newer phones:
MINI Connected

Good luck!
