Two months to get a new bumper

So annoying. On 21st of January, I was waiting to turn right and someone drove into the back of my Cooper D. Got a call from the repairers, and the rear bumper is on back order until the 14th of March!

I have a loan Audi A3, which is nice, but it's grey and boring. I'll be without my car for two months.

I've checked with the local dealer and there is no stock nationally and the date is correct. Beware of being rear ended, people!

Angry

BMW moved their parts centre in Germany last Summer and with the Countryman being Austrian built, the spares are probably supplied from Germany too. I am still awaiting parts for my X6 which have been on order since August 2013 now. There is still no delivery date from BMW Parts. It's been a massive embarrassment for BMW as they allegedly misplaced about a trainload or parts and it's still being sorted out.

Some owners have had loan cars direct from BMW GB that have then been forced of the road because they failed.......and the parts were....on back order!!

Still no date when they will have one. It's almost getting to the point that it will be cheaper to buy a new car, rather than hire one. Plus, the A3 I have is nothing like as well equipped as my car.

Doesnt seem right that youve been waiting over 2 months for a bumper, yet you could have ordered a brand new one and had it built and got that by now, and I bet it comes with a rear bumper fitted too, unless for the past 2 months they have been producing MINI with no rear bumpers, like a special edition, but I havent seen any in the dealers, so the parts are there.

I spent some time on the phone today kicking off about the delays. Guess what? One got delivered today. I should get the car back some time next week. It will be like getting a new car, it's been so long! 51 units were delivered to the UK, so they are still in short supply.
