Mini Connected update issue

Hi all,
Been a long time since I've been on here...I see my MPG thread is still alive and kicking!
Anyway, I have just realised that my Mini Connected is probably due for an update (I have MX-002.007.003) but my car does not want to update (says that the version on the USB is incompatible with my car). I have Mini Connected and visual boost radio but no sat nav and I do have the option to do software update, so it should work in theory. I did read on NAM forum that someone had to get the dealer to update it as this version cannot be upgraded by yourself, anyone else can confirm that or anyone else managed to update it themselves?

It wouldn't really surprise me if you did have to take it to the dealer. There isn't really a single thing on the car that you can update yourself, excluding cosmetics, but even they can be tricky. I would drop by the dealer for the update.

zenx, very true but Mini Connected is one aspect that SHOULD be user serviceable! I forgot to mention that I have one of the earliest Countrymans around, delivered to me beginning of Dec '10 so probably built around Sept '10, maybe the early builds of Mini Connected couldn't be updated except by dealer??
Also I've just recently got a Samsung Galaxy S4 and when I plug it in via the USB console it only plays sounds on my device (wav files from games I downloaded actually) and will not see all my music which is stored on the memory card. Anyone got a solution to this (besides using Bluetooth which I'm doing at the moment but has limited functionality)?

Same Problem

Hi, I have the same problem updating the mini connected. My countryman was built the same time as yours it looks like. Did you manage to fix the problem at all?

Thanks

not yet, not been able to get to a dealer yet to have them check this out. Let us know if you get it sorted.

Regarding: Also I've just recently got a Samsung Galaxy S4 and when I plug it in via the USB console

I only connect my S4 via bluetooth and don't play music from it. What is simplier is to get a USB stick and put your music there.

In addition to that I've learned how to get the Album art to show up (for usb and possibly other methods). You have to have ID3 tags inside your MP3 files. I've used 2 programs to do this; both free. one is TagScanner, the other is ID3MP3. From there you can update the ID tags in the song as well as put album art in each song.

Hi, My CM was built on 2010/2011 too. I have Mini Connected, BT interface, however my Mini Connected can not upgrade by USB or have the plug-in option in the dash control. How do you face this? did you make some modifications? DO you know if someone in this blog have the same limitations on its CM build on 2011/2012?
