Australian MY12 Mini Countryman Cooper S ALL4 Manual - Premature Clutch Life
Curious to hear from other Australian owners with an MY12 Cooper S ALL4 Manual.
I have an MY12 Mini Countryman Cooper S ALL4 Manual with 68,900kms. 95% highway driving.
My clutch has gone.
I know this is a global identified issue with the MY11 and MY12 models. From MY13 onwards, the friction plate was upgraded to be more durable.
BMW Sydney have told me it is a wear and tear item and will be A$5k. Thankyou very much.
Who buys a car knowing that every 2 years you need a new clutch? Especially at A$5k! Absurd!
With minimal gear changes and highway usage, city bound drivers must be going in for new clutches every few months.
Anyhow, if you are another manual driver in Australia, please let me know how Mini have dealt with your premature clutch life.
Overseas, they are replacing under warranty.
BMW / Mini Australia have offered no help whatsoever.
Need local information!
