Time for the MINI Roadster?

Well, now that VW are trailing their BlueSport, for potential production in 2010 (VW BlueSport at Detroit | Auto Express News | News | Auto Express), is it not about time that we see what MINI can do? Or is the brand more focused on the SAV market segment?

That VW is very unchallenging to look at. But I quite like it.

A MINI roadster I think could be very cool, but "they've" always said it would just lure MINI convertible customers, splitting the customer base, rather than bring anyone new to the brand.

Or to retain customers who may otherwise jump ship?
