Power Fold Mirrors

Since picking up my coupe I have had problems with the power fold mirror on the drivers side. The mirror folds In perfectly but when opening stops 5/6mm short so throwing off the view through the mirror. The passenger side is fine.

The car has been back with the dealer some 5 times since the end of Nov and had both the mirror unit and control unit replaced as well as any number of adjustments.

Latest time they conducted a number of tests which were reported to BMW. Just waiting now for a fix............

Anyone experienced this before?

Still no resolution. Emailed Mini UK to advise them both on the issue and my deteriorating patience. Got a response saying that the dealer had requested assistance from Mini technical managers and once the issue had been assessed a fix would be communicatd to me via the dealer.

Not sure what this means.

Update today. Still no fix.
Apparently mini UK are close to a fix which may involve a redesign of the mirror housing - they are being a bit coy but there seems to be a small number of cars with this issue.

I have the same issue with my 2011 R56 MCS on drivers side sometimes. Closing and reopening fixes it but obviously if this remains as a long term problem I'll seek to get it fixed properly under warranty.

Could be the sustained minus temperatures here, will find out once it gets warmer in the next couple of months.

Not an issue here. The temperature doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Still no fix.

Update expected this Friday (13th) but I am not expecting any good news.

My patience on this is just about exhausted - I guess he next step is legal action.

Yes, whenever I try them basically. Haven't really been able to use them at all since I collected the car last Nov.

On what grounds can they reject it?! If the part doesn't work they have to fix it under warranty!

Sorry I didn't make it clear; the letter of rejection was mine. Dealer reported today that the factory have advised them that a fix is not due any time soon.

Presumably replacing the whole door could provide a solution?
