Hello all I am a Mustang guy who is now going to order a Roadster.
As probably with all of us, color is everything to me. I personally must have a love affair with the color of my car. Here is my take on the colors of the Roadster.
Black is beautiful on any car but I could never own a black car as it looks great when clean but a trip around the block will show every bit of dust and dirt along with swirl marks from cleaning and that would drive me crazy. I love the white on this but the jury is still out on that. I have always wanted a silver car as it shows the cleanest at all times but this white silver in the natural sunlight did not have that "pop" to me on the reg Mini but I will have to see it on the 59. Blue is my favorite color on a car. As it is dark but yet has that "pop" and richness I am looking for and I have owned a Mustang in dark blue and it was an awesome color. This reef blue with silver stripes looks like the way I am leaning but I have searched the Hampton edition Clubman in this color and pics and videos have done nothing for me as the color looks washed out in all what I have seen. So I just am going to have to see this color in person before I order. The Eclipse Gray is a beautiful color but just not available. So the lightning blue and Silver/white is what I have narrowed it down to. What color are you guys leaning towards and why? And if anyone ever gets a real picture of the 59 in Reef please post.
Good luck choosing your colour. I do think you need to see the colours "in the flesh" so to speak cos in my experience they are very different to the way they look in the brochures and on-line. I was definitely having blue or red until I saw the spice-orange and black in the showroom - realised it had my name on it
We liked the look of midnight black on the configurator and had the same thoughts as you regarding keeping it clean. So we ordered the silver (red stripes). While we were there they had a Coupe in the midnight black and after we left it kept nagging away at us. Two weeks later we went back to the dealer and changed our minds and changed to the midnight black (with red stripes). I have just resigned myself to a lot of extra cleaning (I hope we don't have another hosepipe ban!).
I went to the Roadster 'release night' a week ago at North Oxford MINI and they had two models (apparently one of three dealers in the country to get two). Sadly they were both almost identical (Coop S/Silver+black stripes/JCW body kit) but one was manual and the other an auto!
PS. GO SOX!

My local dealer had a Reef Blue hatch (with full Avenue pack) and that looked superb under the showroom spots but I haven't seen it in daylight. It was quite a cold blue, with grey tones. Did like it (especially with the Black Star alloys, the Yours being too bling for my taste) but hard to justify the premium over a straight metallic. (Anyone know the process used? Is it more complex than the metallics' process?)
Have heard the Silver White looks very flat under street lighting.
Totally agree about black - looks lovely until the swirls appear.
I think all the demo cars were grey metallic sport-pack Ss with toffee interior and a manual hood. Drove really well with barely a hint of the shakes. So, so tempted but dull-realist brain says 'Hatch is sensible. Hatch is sensible." and the Coupé is a half-way house compromise. Option paralysis. Maybe I should just go down the dealer and flip a coin to put myself out of my misery.
