Does anybody drive a coupe as a daily car? I've heard they can be pretty crash over bumps, but I used to use a JCW hatch every day and that wasn't too bad. Are they comparable in terms of comfort?
Go and try one at the dealers then you know first hand? relying on others opinions might give you a false idea, whats a hard ride to some is ok to others, so buying a car on that info and it turning out not being what you thought isnt really a good idea is it?
I drive a Roadster S as my daily, on sport suspension and run flats to boot! We have also done MA->Arkansas, MA->Moncton, NB, MA->The Dragon, NC. If you're looking for ultimate ride comfort this is the wrong car for you, but for me the ride is OK and is more than compensated for by everything else!
I said this about our car in another thread, but here it is
" The thing i hate most about our coupe sd is the noise from the road with run-flats, its horrendous . Crashy ride & loads and loads and loads of rattles in the boot area.." Tram lines realy bad a s well.
When I say noisy, its the most noisy car I have ever ridden in. Very smooth roads are ok, but anything else is just insane. Will ditch the runflats when they wear out & find the quietest standard tyre I can.
Had a cooper S with sport suspension and runflats. This feels similar for crash & tramlining, but there is more nose from the tyres. Never been in any car like it, all i can imagine is that it must be like a rally car with all soundproofing stripped out, less the exhaust sounds.
I use to drive daily but no more. Not that I didn't want to, just didn't have to. 2009 JCW convertible. Yes it's a little rough but that's why I love to drive it. It's noisy also but then again the sporty of it outweighs a quiet ride. Just crank up the tuneS.
