Hi,
New member here hoping someone out there has a solution to the coupe rear visibility limitations.
I tried a forum search but didn't come across what I think is a much needed solution for an obvious need. I'm sure someone has solved this before so before I start inventing solutions I thought I should ask.
I have a 2013 Coupe JCW. Fun little car, but rear viz is inadequate.
I can see out of the side mirrors ok to minimize blind spots for lane changes, etc. but i find the rear view mirror has to point down to see out of the rear. This results in limiting how far back up the street I can see.
The result - impossible to see very fast approaching traffic far enough out (Safety Issue). Worse still, can't see the local constabulary set back about 100 yds behind me (Tickets/points etc issue).
There are clip on mirror covers that could be attached to the existing mirror to extend it lower but this would further reduce forward visibility and at 6'4" the existing mirror is already a little obtrusive for me.
I am thinking of adding a dash mounted mirror. Either post mounted on top of the dash (see attached picture) or having something custom made that integrates with the existing dash.
Has anyone already solved this?
Thanks in advance for you advice.
