Earlier in the article they describe a run going up and over a mountain, the MINI pulls away from the Clio even though it (the Clio) is being wrung out on the way up.
On the way down they appear to be evenly matched until the tarmac becomes steeper and more tortuous at which point the MINI eases away again.
They put this down to the greater torque of the MINI's engine, but I would say that if the MINI's brakes weren't as good as the Clio's then the two would have cancelled each other out, so it looks as if the brakes in the new MINI are probably almost as good as the Brembos in the Clio...
Well i drove the new 197 on the weekend my friend has just got one and to tell you the truth i think the current cooper s is better. One thing i will say is them BREMBOs on the clio are very good.
Early scan on article? Mag coming to stores only next week, cant wait to see it.
How the new Mini fairs in Evo will largely deside whether I buy one next year.
My dealer has just told me that the R56 MCS has JCW brakes as standard. This was news to me but is consistent with comments on this thread. I hope he is right
I thought that I had seen a comment somewhere else on MINI2 saying that the R56 was getting the JCW brakes as standard. That could explain why its brakes are on a par with the Brembos in the Clio.
