R56: Not much going for it

"The contrast with Smart is interesting, with a victory of fashion over practicality in a way. The Smart was small and easy to park outside city apartments, while the Mini is just for show with not much more going for it. I expect to see enduring success for the Mini but we're not going to see tremendous year-on-year growth."

Al Bedwell, J.D. Power analyst

From a story written for a U.S. newspaper by a writer based in Sussex.

Interesting that he didn't look around for the U.S. pricing and he's still hung up on the Traveller name. I didn't realize that the R56 goes on sale here next month. The announced February rollout must be a mistake. Guess he doesn't understand the difference between ordering and obtaining.

The story does show how BMW's profits on the Mini have increased over the years.

Sounds like a load of tripe to me (especially as ex smart <shudders> owner). But each to their own.
