Unhappy Auto Express Owners Reliability Survey 07

Auto Express today published a very detailed survey of owners and there experiences good bad and ugly scoring in 10 catergories Reliabilty:Build Quality:Running Costs:Performance:Braking:Ride Quality:Handling:Practicality:Comfort:Ease of Driving

The overall result for MINI was a very disappointing, but not unsurprising , 81st place overall out of 100. in 2006 MINI was placed 65th so unfortunately as production continues to ramp up the quality is heading South big time

Punchline last comment is a worry too

" Let's hope the NEW model can turn things around next year"

Yes But

Doubt the writer has been in a mini. Says the Speedo is hard to read!!!!!

Perhaps they aren't capable of flicking through the menu to get the digital readout in the middle of the wheel and IF he can't read the BIG Speedo....should he have a license?

That wouldn't think that has a bearing on the survey results though.

Well, you win some, you loose some...

Least the new S won against the VXR though

I think despite its size, the new speedo IS v difficult to read. It's not at an easy angle (the needle doesn't seem to line up with the figures from your viewing angle if you see what I mean) and it's not in your line of vision (eyes off the road and to the left to look at it).

I'd be stuffed if I didn't have the digital option in the rev counter.

But haven't MINI done well in the JD Power surveys? Top ten-ish or something?

I'm not saying the Coops don't have problems, but the survey must have been with owners of the early production cars. The probs have been well documented here.

I think the survey would have involved late model (2005/06) "1st Gen" MINIs.

My understanding is they do it year on year with models of that year, hence the reference to the second gen. in the report.
