MSN says " Overrated: new Mini "

Was looking about MSN's home page when i saw this

Overrated: new Mini - Car News | MSN Cars UK

Quote:
BMW had a chance to do something really interesting with the Mini, but instead they’ve provided us with a fatter copy of an old car. And it’s been flawed from the start.

The new diesel sounds like a tractor, and the old one wasn’t very diesely when it came to mpg figures. They’re all expensive as well, especially when you start dipping into the extensive options list.

Funny as this was what some one from msn said a few weeks back

Mini Cooper S test - First Drives | Reviews | MSN Cars UK

What every one views on Mr Fortune's review then ?

In my view there is no response to saying any thing along these lines, MINI would have to make the new car look some what like the one car, Or it would not be a MINI,

For me its a rubbish review with nothing to back it up.

To be honest, I wasn't that bothered, but after failing at four attempts to get the review page to fully load, I'm even less interested.

You have to remember it's just one persons opinion, and there's bound to be people who don't like it, members of the media or otherwise. Besides, it makes better copy.

He has some good points and some that are a little wide of the mark. TBH as with all things in life there will always be people who love things and others that don't.

It was acceptable in the 80's

Actually, I think the reviewer is spot on in many of the points he made.

Naah .......... not really. What a pillock !

Do you really want to trust a review from a guy who looks like this :

Biography: Kyle Fortune - Motoring Journalist - About Us | MSN Cars UK

And who drives one of these ?

Peugeot 205 / 106 (1983-2003) - 4Car Gallery from Channel 4

I would not trust his opinion even if given to me for free over a pint in the pub.

p.s. What do you suppose Kyle Fortune's real name is ? Looks like a Bernard to me.
