I was thinking of covering a 4'x4' piece of plywood with vinyl tile and using 1"x1" pieces to create lanes (6-8" wide). Anybody done this, seen any tracks, had any thoughts, etc.???

Electric Blue w/ Sport Package...first "S" delivered in Maryland (5/10/02)
I've been everywhere but the electric chair...I've seen everything but the wind.
We've actually done this at work - converted the top of an air-hockey table to a track using soft-drink cans to lay out the course (I work at what must be the last of the dot-coms, so we have that and a foosball table). The biggest problem has been the cars people have are all on the same frequency, so we've been doing time trials (how many laps in 2 minutes, etc). Not as fun as head-to-head racing.
