Next-gen Mini Clubman spotted - new pictures

These are the latest pictures of the new Mini Clubman, which has been spotted undergoing cold weather testing near the Arctic Circle.

The Clubman, which will switch to a larger and more conventional sporting estate for its second generation, will be one of the initial four models in the third-generation BMW Mini lineup.

It will follow the three-door hatchback into production alongside new convertible and five-door hatchback versions.

While the current Clubman has an unusual 2+1 side-door arrangement, with the rear door being rear hinged, the new model has conventional doors on each side for rear passengers. The twin side-hinged door arrangement for the tailgate remains, however.

United-States Clubman or Countryman????

I like the Halo Lights. Is that intake on the lower front fender ya think? Prob it's a turbo I guess with the dual exhaust. Thought they were ditchin the Barn Door idea? I like Hatches. Roof is nice, lotta light comin in. The taillights look like they may be Sequential, that's nice! Smooth Sleek look and yay for happy Bladders and Backs with Low Pro's that low!!!!!!!!! Inside is kinda ify to me. The back seats do look comfy!

Looks like a poor hybrid of the Clubman and Paceman.

I own a Clubman and it's instantly recognizable as a Mini and is an auto design classic. Can't say the same for this version, unfortunately. Really not fond of the way their designs are evolving; Minis are starting to look like every other car on the road and are becoming massive which defeats the entire history and philosophy of the marque.

Disappointing. Don't think I'll be buying another until the design aesthetic changes.

I love it, to my eyes this is what the CM should have been all along, rather than the neither fish nor foul abomination MINI actually built, and I stupidly bought. It's the first of the 3rd Gen MINI's where the styling fits properly, the new hardtop looks lumpy and the 5 door spy shots show a very oddly proportioned vehicle.

It's also the first BMW product with airbreathers which look attractive and well integrated in the design, rather than tacked on afterthoughts.
