Offline | Right now! Today show! Jay Leno in a MCS! They just did a quick teaser about it, but the feature is coming up. West coast folks watch for it around 8:00 a.m. your time. I know this belongs in TV and Film, but wanted to let folks know ASAP. Amy ![]() |

Offline | Well, they did lots of teasers, but they finally got around to the segment at about 8:35. They had stunt drivers from The Italian Job, and Jay took Al Roker for a spin. After a few runs, you could hardly see the cars for the tire smoke. Fun segment! Amy ![]() |

Offline | Jay & the MCS I've been watching the Today Show with Jay Leno this morning. MINI provided two MCS cars: & Leno took Roper for a great ride...you could almost smell the burning rubber thru the tv as Jay did some pretty good 180's. Jay stated that Al lost ten pounds in the process and Al agreed and said it was all still on the front seat. Nothing like the smell of MINI clutch and rubber burning in the morning. Pepper White / Red Interior / Red Stripes / CVTTalk is cheap 'cause supply exceeds demand. Last edited by ScooterMan : May 14th, 2003 at 01:58 AM. |

| MINI2 Senior | I saw the teaser earlier in the show and quickly set up the DVR to capture it. It was obviously a promo for the Italian Job, but fun to watch anyhow. The stunts were good enough for the confined space, but definitely not Russ Swift material. Jay Leno is a car collector and skilled driver, so I was pleased that they let him thrash the car around on that tiny plaza. Cool. |

Offline | Can anybody post a quicktime replay of the segment? I heard about it too late and missed it. I would love to see it. By the way, where's all those Russ Swift videos? I can't find them any more. |

| MINI2 Regular | I just met the crew from that Leno segment. They swung down to maryland to do some stunts for TV as they travel across the country promoting the film. The stunt driver said Leno was pretty good and suprised him at how quickly he picked up the handling of the MINI. Jay did, however, burn out the clutch on the blue MINI so all they had today was the red one. |
