I've been told that the MINI will appear in the awards edition of Top Gear next Monday night.

It's also featured in the March edition of the mag - apparently coming 3rd in car of the year behind the new Range Rover and a Lambo. Not bad.....

The Top Gear Car of the Year feature rates the ONE as Best Small Car and third of year overall.

BUT it does not rate the Cooper as Best Hot Hatch, feeling that (and I quote):

"Trouble is, it’s just not quite as big a hoot as the best in this category. But the Cooper is up there when it comes to getting good value from the dealer – at £11,600, the car of the moment really is quite a catch. So if others are out of your range, you won’t be disappointed by the Mini." Faint praise!


.......and the winner????? - None other than the pesky Civic Type R of course!

No - the Mini range (Cooper and One) was rated as the best small car. The Mini (model not specified but it'a a Cooper in the photos) was placed in the top three overall. Did they actually say it came third? I thought they just announced the winner.

Mini Cooper beaten by Civic Type-R? Not too surprising! The Type-R is really a Cooper-S competitor.
