you can see a small portion of a certain Mr Powers union jack mini from the new film (which may or may not be called Goldmember). Apparently it features in a car chase through LA.

Austin Powers: Goldmember: A chase sequence on the comedy was filmed in Los Angeles last night and 'Trajan' scored some photos from his balcony view including a look at Austin's car license plate, Goldmember's henchmen vehicles and an action sequence he describes thus:

"The Goldmember scorpian-car drove down the offramp, making a wild screeching turn into the 2nd Street tunnel, with the Austin Power car and the henchmen vehicles close behind. This is the same tunnel that is used in countless movies and auto-commercials.
The close up photos of the vehicles were taken as they went down the ramp, and the action sequence shots were taken as they rounded the turn into the tunnel"

Although the firm that owns the Bond film rights have requested that the film is renamed and if so may cause a headache as the central villain is Goldmember....

By this summer when the movie comes out, you can be certain that throughout the US the MINI will go from complete obscurity to pop star status very quickly. The general public will probably know it as "Austin Power's car!".

Can tie-ins to the movie (TV commercials, print ads, etc.) be far behind? Win an AP MINI, perhaps?

And who will be the first MINI owner to clone the full "Austin Powers look" for their personal MINI?

Nice to see that someone on the BMW side or the movie side decided to get together and include the MINI.
