Offline | The newest issue of Autoweek says that all 70 Mini dealers have been sent letters this week from BMW letting them know that they are "it". 200 of the 345 BMW dealers tried to get a franchise. BMW will make the official announcement once these dealerships have signed the agreement |

Offline | So, why can't the individual dealerships let people know? This whole process has been very poorly handled by BMW, imho. Enough so that I'm starting to seriously consider other options, like the gti, rsx, and even the new M-B c230, which looks pretty cool, has a similar panoramic sunroof, but will cost upwards of $29-30. |

Offline | It seems to me individual dealerships are handling this very different to one another. Many people seem to have had calls or letters from their dealers saying 'we've got the go' and others don't seem to be saying very much. In the UK almost every BMW dealership will have a MINI showroom, so I guess we are spared that problem to a large degree. B) |

Offline | Just talked to my dealer today. They have been selected to be a dealer! They said that there is a lot of paperwork to complete and that by early summer everything should be complete and agreed to. My dealer is Baron BMW in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City. A while back, I put down $500 to get on the list. My dealer said that they will not charge above MSRP. Said they never have and will not start with the Cooper. Said when they get all the paperwork done that I will be able to start the process of selecting colors, options, everything. It is amazing how much in the dark the dealers still are. Hopefully we will all start to get more updates soon. |
