Ok folks, as your aware those of us in the UK will be getting our copies of GT4 over the next few days, slightly behind the rest of the world.

So i thought we would run a little competition in the spirit of the MINI. we started out with the nurburging for the first week, we did laguna seca for a week and now we have added Fuji Speedway to the challenge.

For those new to the game, select arcade mode, and then choose the world circuit, then choose you vehicle. or go thru time trial. no difference, apart from time trial allows as many laps as u like, arcade is 2 laps.

GT4 - MINI Fastest Lap Challenge

Rules.

1. use the standard stock MINI cooper or MINI cooper S in arcade
2. no performance modifications allowed to the car,
3. oil changes allowed
4. stock tires i.e. the ones u have when u select the car
5. run as many laps as you like
6. post up your fastest lap time
7. state which MINI u are using.
8. be fair (no point posting up unrealistic laptimes)
9. if u can take a screenshot with your time and post it up all the better.

This will initially be limited to stock MINIs, if theres enough interest then i will open this up to modifications too.

Post 1 will hold the official laptimes. add yours the thread as and when, be realistic and be fair.

Was going to suggest setting up some online comps if it did

When it gets to me I may well have to book a days holiday

Loz - when you say no mods - that include tyres?

And for all you armchair Ring Pilots out there, I reckon my best lap in a Cooper (Racing Chip and Induction (does GT have an induction mod or is this covered by stage 1?)) was around 10:30 bridge to bridge.

Traudl (German racing lady) can get her Mini One round the lap in less than 9:40!

No mods including tires, feel free to post up your times for modified (put the spec in as well) . They just wont get put into the challenge.

Reason for limiting the cars to stock is that you can take 100,000 of cash from GT3 by memory card into GT4 and that can seriously give people a modding advantage. Im trying to make the challenge available and fair to all folks.

Im thinking of opening this to modding mayhem after a few weeks.

I got mine this morning, ran over to my PS2 & put it in... it took ages to load and then just said "Disc read error" I beat up my ps2 too but that didnt help Im gonna have to get a new one I think *cries* I was so excited aswell having the mini in it as the background for a few days psyching myself up just to be let down All have a race in the Cooper S for me please

From what I remember that damn close to what I did so we're rubbish together.

Only got 8.3? in an M3 GTR

I'm thinking that if I stayed on the paved bits more I'd be faster. What do you think, good plan??

Maybe I'll buy a stock Cooper and give it a whirl. My Cooper was my first car on there, and I had to turbo it!

No need.
You can go in Arcade MOde and do the 'Ring with a MINI or you can go into your setting for the car, choose your B set and then hit the Default button and you should be back to base.

I do this for a drag tune and road course tune for my MINI
