| The games are region free. Bought films will be region coded in the same way the DVD's are. The US version therefore will only play US films (but comes with a free spiderman 2 film). The japanese version (which has an arguably better screen) plays all games but only region 2 films, of course Japan and the UK are both in region 2. You can compress your own DVD's to play on the PSP on memory stick DUO (512MB is the biggest around). There are a number of Hong Kong sites that export to the UK. I deeply mistrust everything ebay but there are several for sale on ebay. GT4 is cheduled for Q2, 2005 in Japan but september in the US. Q2 2005 seems about now! Hope this helps ps the PSP has english controls and menus, wheras some of the Japanese games have Japanese menus but english dialogue (and some have english menus). The Japanese Ridge Racers is a little confusing and requires some experimentation but fun. The US version is out now-and cheaper) |

| I have seen some on ebay which come with spiderman 2....kinda cool...wonder what other movies are currently on UMD. hmm...you mention that the Japanese version has a better screen? Well my japanese version PSP had a deal pixel after 1 WEEK!!!....I only saw it the day before I left Japan. I took it back to the store I bought it from, and they agreed to replace it for me, but they didn't have any in stock at that time... MINI No. 1 - 2005 Pepper White Cooper Chilli - Jun 05 - Nov 07. MINI No. 2 - 2005 Pepper White Cooper S Chilli - Oct 07 - Apr 09. MINI No. 3 - 2008 Lightning Blue Cooper Chilli - Great to be MINI again . |

| The Japanese PSP supposedly has a clearer sharper screen (made by SHARP) that is prone to dead pixels (which was probably present from new). The Samsung scren fitted to US models is lower contrast but doesn't suffer as frequently from dead pixels-that's what I meant by "arguably". Depending on who you believe Sony changed the screen because of quality issues or just because they needed 1 million units for the US launch. I have a dead pixel on my PSP but it doesn't bother me. The reviews of GT4 on the PSP suggest it is a ported version of the PS2 game and is "visually indistinguishable". Can't wait though so I'll probabby slip out to buy GT4 dor the PS2 today! |

It's been confirmed, by some crazy people who dissasembled their new PSP's, that the US model has the same screen as the Japanese version. No dead pixels on mine but I know some have found them and Sony will replace any units so affected. GT4:PSP is slated for an "early 2005" launch in Japan and September 2005 in the US. No word on other parts of the world and I'm sure those dates will change as well, if previous GT games are any indication. I'm sure it will be worth the wait. |
