| MINI2 Regular | US MINI magazine...? I am looking for a good MINI magazine from the US. Something like Go MINI out of the UK. One that deals mainly with new MINI's only. geno. |

Offline | I don't think there are any US-based new MINI-specific publications out there. Remember, we're dealing with a British icon here. You're asking a whole lot out of NASCAR nation... That said, I wouldn't mind one either. Doesn't have to be new MINI specific; I like seeing the classic Austin Mini too. Shows you were your roots are. Can't stand paying the fortune for imported copies of GoMINI...<sigh> but it sure does make for great sales material for the coworkers I punish by putting in the backseat. ![]() |

| 05 MCS BEP | Yup...it's $12CDN an issue at Chapters bookstores in Canada and comes a month late. That works out to about $10US an issue. Not bad for a magazine that's printed overseas and shipped over. I like the photography of goMINI. I've paid more for some niche market US magazines in the past. A US based magazine might be just as expensive unless it can get the advertising revenue to support it. Given the limited supply of MINIs out there on North American roads, and let's face it, the MINI is a bit of a niche market, there might not be enough volume to bring the price of the magazine down to the $5US (or even CDN ) range without some sort of government subsidy. I think MINI2, and other forums on the internet has been a great boon for the car enthusiast. |

Offline | Indeed they are wonderful resources, but until I get constant GPRS/EV-DO/UMTS/WiMax in my MCS, my Mac Mini, and some screens, my rear seat passengers can't be upsold on a MINI quite as easily as they can be when I leave issues on GoMINI in the seatbacks. But you're very correct, with such a small target market, it might be quite expensive to produce, or just be of relatively shabby quality (like some of those Classic VW magazines I see at Chapters/Indigo). |
