Spa & 'Ring Weekend

Hi guys,
are any of you up for a combined Spa & 'Ring weekend this summer. Some guys from work are going but I don't fancy hangin' out with the GT3 / Murcielago crowd - they're a bit up their own arses if you know what I mean.

Grass roots enthusiasts interested in improving their driving are more my type.

It's worth thinking about.

Spa & 'Ring Weekend

We're pretty flexible. August sounds fine.
I''d be good to get a decent number of forum members out there - while some may want to bring cars other than Minis, which is cool, it would be great to see a good number of the wee giant-slayers out there "doin' their thing en mass!"

Any chance of a "local" from Luxembourg joining in? I'm not a speed freak, but would love the experience....

Cheers

Could be interested

as I need to plan my 2006 Ring trips soon - the summer sounds good, but I'd be keen todo the Ring mid week to avoid the very bust summer Saturdays (spend too long waiting for the track to be re-opened after yet another weekend warrior has overcooked the entry to a corner).

Let me know what sort of dates you are plannig - I'm sure a couple of the Ringers on here will be up for a trip.

Ring dates

Hi guys,

A question for the ringers:

There seems to be a block of days when the ring is open from June 30th to July 3rd.

Would this be a good time or would it be too busy?

Though I'd much prefer to go mid-week, I can't seem to see many weekday dates, any suggestions?

What's your rec for accommodation, I'm not fussy but would like off road parking.

Many thanks
Tim

I like to stay at the tiergarten, its 90 a day, the dorinth is 110 or so, but you can find private accomodation down to 20 euros a day, good thing with tiergarten is it has the pistenklause restaurant, which sabine works/stays at a lot, and they have good food!

lots of guys from mini2.info was there this wed, talking 30ish minis!

now if only I had more camber, a bigger oil cooler, if clutch wouldn't keep dieing.. it would be fun

pads also die, but thats more normal.

hardlap = 145-150 on oil temp
smoothlap = 140c

The weekends are the busiest days after the Easter Mad Hols, so you should get some good track time on the Friday and Monday, however you'll find that a fair few Brits are taking a long weekend down ther as well

as for accom, the Hotel ander Nordschliefe is the best for access to the track - has balconies over looking the track, and has lots of parking and Eddie(the owner) is a diamond bloke, however it can get a bit blokey there if you're are thinking of taking mrs timmydamini

Out of town the Hotel wilhelmshohe is more civilised and is set on some fantastic driving roads, failing that check out hotels in Cochem - great river views, castle and vine yards.

Cheers

Thanks for the advice Steve.

I don't know when I'll be going yet, all I know is that I'm eager to do so.

Regards,
Tim

Nurburgring 700: 14 - 17 October

There's a great 'Ring weekend being run by Circuit Days 14 - 17 October.
Maximum of 70 cars. It's a Road Rally which will include four road stages plus two days lapping at the 'Ring.
It's £700 for a two crew car. That includes acommodation, ferries & 'ring laps.

For details go to:
