hi all - raced a business colleague/friend's (a good friend, obviously!) cooper-s whilst working in montana last week ....

posted faster times than a corvette and a mustang - fortunately was a tight demanding course better suited to a go-kart style of car, lol .... the 'vette and 'stang sounded and looked great but spent most of lap on opposite lock with smoke spewing from rear tyres!

1st time ever driven a new mini in anger - loved it - is semi tuned, up to 210bhp - my friend races with his brother in law who has a 240bhp cooper-s - he posted faster times than me (my best was 47.1 secs, his was 44.3) but had 30bhp more AND slicks on!! (and accustomed to left hand drive/gear stick on right!).

will post pics when i can - being a new member i don't seem to be able to ....

What do you drive yourself while at home? If not a mini, has last week tempted you enough to order one?

hi - between us (self and the good lady) we run an mx5, a beetle (new style) and a harley davidson. the mx5/harley are my primary transport but i also use the beetle a lot (and like it very much).

we test drove a cooper a year or so ago and were undecided, as one of the three vehicles will have to go to make way for a new mini - but, after hammering around in a cooper-s am a lot closer to sacrificing one of the three .... now then, if i can just get her to concede a new mini would be more fun than her beloved beetle .... ;-)

seriously, when funds permit we will be going for a cooper-s, most definitely - hopefully this will be before they discontinue current model - from pics i have seen so far, i prefer current styling to the proposed new design.
