Offline | Vid from 2008 MINI Challenge test last Saturday Hi there, I was down at Silverstone last Saturday with some mates and Schubert racing was there with a pair of 2008 Challenge cars they were running for media and potential racers. I got chatting with a bloke who was taking some vids and pics and asked him to send me the link when he posted stuff online - which I thought I'd share here. There are some OK pics and the vids obviously cobbled together, but it looks fast, and in the flesh it sounds and goes great. Looking forward to checking out a race or two this season. |

Offline | Yep it has got a pretty impressive sound - quite different to the standard car. What really got me though was the standard of preparation of both cars that were there. Both totally immaculate. Lots of caution going on too as they were changing tyres and even front pads fairly regularly. |

Offline | I did 5 or 6 laps in the right hooker on Saturday At Silverstone. It was very well put together, not like my "old shed" Cooper race car and easy to drive. Quick ,but no quicker than the supercharged S. ( I suspect our car had the turbo boost reined back) Great brakes and grip in high speed corners but the car was set up not to oversteer so it understeered in the slow stuff . This can be changed!!!! Overall though a step forward for BMW ..... sorry MINI. Anybody got £35K they dont need? |

Offline | Yet another Swedish driver in the Schubert MINI stable This year yet another swedish driver is to take on a MINI in the Schubert Stable after the success of Jocke Mangs who won the series last year ![]() The new drivers name is Fredrik Lestrup, a young guy that has got some racing experience in various categories already under his belt. I will try and get him to register at the swedish MINI club“s forum, New MINI Club Sweden, (New Mini Club Sweden) so he will get some extra backing from us when competing with other excellent drivers from around the globe. It is going to be interesting to follow the series this year aswell. |
