mini rally car

Hi guys,Im interested in building a mini rally car does anyone have any information on existing cars competing and also is the mini FIA homologated for international rallies? I own a cooper race car at the moment which I plan to convert .

Unless things have changed recently, the mini is not FIA homologated in any form

I have seen those cars at MiniSport.

They have been run in both the Targa Newfoundland and Targa Tasmania rallies as well as various local events. I believe they are too short to meet the FIA specs.

Hi,

I have run my mini in loads of rallies including 4 targa tasmanias : These have all been tarmac rallies. However, I know there are a lot of cars running in gravel rallies as well The car has been very reliable for me, except for the last Targa

Unfortunately, BMW has not homologated the mini, which means true international events eg WRC / Asia Pacific rally championship etc are not possible.

There is a guy near Aberdeen who had a Cooper rally car and was converting it to a Cooper S. I can't think of his name though - i went up and bought all his Cooper stuff for a circuit car we were building.

just realised it is the same guys that shaun pointed out .

Hi,have finished conversion to rally car so have grabbed a last minute entry on caerwent rally on 15th june will post some pics and let you know how it went ,cheers
