Some insurance companies do put that exclusion on the policy documents

I have heard it is classed as a "one-way destricted public toll road" - they have the derestricted signs when you go on and there are speed limit signs at certain points.

You have to obey all the normal rules and overtake on the left - best to wait for the person to indicate first to know they have seen/acknowledged you are there before you go past them

Virtually all insurance comapnies exclude it int he wording now. Some refer directly to it and others as you say just say deristricted toll roads.

Turns out the Dooper belongs to one of my flickr contacts. Lucky to be alive - the passenger onboard said:

"Yes, i was passenger in it. How a beautiful day can come to an end.. Terrible. I have a Whiplash, concussion, and some little things here and there.

We were driving on the nordschleife when we went into a corner at about 100kmh. The car began to lose grip. The driver lost control and we crashed into the grind. The car rolled over.

The ambulance brought me to the hospital in Adenau, where they made pictures of my body.

The crash happened at 18h. We were home at 1.30.

Damn."

The NightFire Red Dooper was mine .

I crashed it on the Ring on 12/05.

To bad but the codriver and me are ( almost ) allright. The MINI did his job and protected the codriver and me.

Just booked up my trip to the ring, I usaully go about twice a year and have been for the last few years. But this is the first time in the mini.

Its one of the best experiences that you can do, as long as you take your time on the first few laps you will be fine.

Is anyone going there in July?

I've got plans to head down in late June / July. Think I'll probably leave London on a Thursday night and drive the Ring for the first time on the Friday. Just miss the weekend!
Have to say, am bricking it a little already...

you could always take a pro and get some tuition, my mates did that this time and reckon they felt a lot more confident after a few laps with a pro
