Offline | Impact Wrench for changing tires... Have any of you guys bought an impact wrench yet for changing into your autox tires? Now that I have my mini, and my dad has his boxster S, I will be changing 8 tires every Sunday morning, and unscrewing the lugs is a time consuming, pain in the butt process. Can anyone recommend a cheap impact wrench that I could buy for changing the tires? Scott |

Offline | I had the same need. I bought the Sears Craftsman Pro 7.5 amp electric impact wrench. It works very well and is easy to use. You will also need two of the black, long impact sockets- 17mm for the MINI and 19 mm for the Porsche. |

Offline | I've never seen one for under $100. You should torque to the proper setting with a manual torque wrench (again Craftsman $69 and up) so the impact power isn't critical. I've always been able to break loose factory/tire shop installed lugs on various vehicles with the Craftsman. If cost weren't a factor that Milwaukee unit looks very nice. |

Offline | I bought one of the Cheap Electric Impact wrenches at walmart.(34.95) I was able to remove and replace the factory wheels on mine many time without fail. I cant say it was faster but i can say it was less back breaking. Its not a high quality piece like the others but it does work. Name brand is Rally 02 MCS DS/W (Totaled November 02 on Fall Folage Run) 03 MCS DS/W (See my MINI Profie for extensive list of mods) |
