Impact Wrench for changing tires...

Have any of you guys bought an impact wrench yet for changing into your autox tires? Now that I have my mini, and my dad has his boxster S, I will be changing 8 tires every Sunday morning, and unscrewing the lugs is a time consuming, pain in the butt process. Can anyone recommend a cheap impact wrench that I could buy for changing the tires?

I had the same need. I bought the Sears Craftsman Pro 7.5 amp electric impact wrench. It works very well and is easy to use. You will also need two of the black, long impact sockets- 17mm for the MINI and 19 mm for the Porsche.

Wow, that actually costs quite a bit, do you know of any wrenches that costs under 100 bucks that are satisfactory for the job?

You will need 14.4v, for a Porsche which requires 94 FT-Lbs:

I've never seen one for under $100. You should torque to the proper setting with a manual torque wrench (again Craftsman $69 and up) so the impact power isn't critical. I've always been able to break loose factory/tire shop installed lugs on various vehicles with the Craftsman. If cost weren't a factor that Milwaukee unit looks very nice.

You guys are sooo lucky sometimes - try buying a decent one of these in the UK for under 400 bucks!

I bought one of the Cheap Electric Impact wrenches at walmart.(34.95) I was able to remove and replace the factory wheels on mine many time without fail. I cant say it was faster but i can say it was less back breaking. Its not a high quality piece like the others but it does work. Name brand is Rally

it is not recommended to install with an impact wrench, only remove. They are not reliable as torque wrenches.
