A Grand Day Out in Norway

I've enjoyed a very nice day at Rudskogen Raceway here in Norway today! Only one Mini, but well organized and good driving. A freezing cold breeze and only 4 to 5 degrees C, but over 30 cars showed up.
An Escort Cosworth leaved half an engine behind on the track, and a couple of old Manta's just stopped.
Me and my Mini performed perfectly.
A Grand Day Out!

Good to read you had a great day out circuit racing.
Much like my day at Goodwood - UK last week at the pre-season test/track day for this years coming John Cooper Challenge.

Tell me, where is Rudskogen.
Some years ago I lived in Osteras, Bearum and worked in Tjuvholmen, Oslo, (Aker Engineering)in the days when Aker Brygge was stiil the old ship yards, dry docks, railway sidings and Martin Schanke was showing the world how to build and drive a racing machine.

Back then I thought hard surface track racing has banned in Norge, only allowed was loose track rallies and rally-cross.
Obviously, this has changed.

Hi Tumblewood, nice that you enjoyed your stay here in Oslo. I live in Oslo city, and Rudskogen is only an hour or so down south. I have enclosed a map to show approximately where.
Next weekend the same event is taking place at Vålerbanen north of Kongsvinger, about 1,5 hour northeast from Oslo.
I hope I will find the time to be there.
