How did the lap times compared with the stock hatches. I went to see a friend who races in the stock hatch with a battered XR2. They were lapping in the 1:31s. There didn't seam to be much Mini support, I only spotted a couple in the car parks ????

Fastest Stock hatch was less than one second quicker than Coopers - Fastest Cooper time of the day was a 1.31 in qualifying - Fastest race time was 1.32.20 - If you had a MINI and were there then Mrs Racer probably spoke to you - she acosts all MINI drivers at events whether they visit MINI2 or not

Is that just an experence issue, I can't imagine a crappy XR2 is faster or are they allowed more mods to the suspension ?????

Sorry didn't speak to anyone in the Minis, We were parked by the front, and moved outside the gates once my mate started throwing things at his XR2.

More mods and more importantly less weight - Next year when MINIs are allowed in SH I think they will win hands down

Are they allowing them in, I though only 1.4 16V were allowed ????

Or 1.6 8V ???

Good point - I'd only thought about it from the 3 year rule point not the engine config - Speaking to some of the guys at the w/e though they are going to have to do something because they have sooo many entrants that they now have a 'waiting' list which is almost unheard of for club sport

Anyway, you'd not want to risk racing a nice Mini against old B reg Xr2s and 106s...........
