some simple tips..
1). Relax. nothing worse than getting to excited and messing up all that practice you've been doing.
2). since most likly you will be using a count down tree. Try leaving the moment you see the last yellow. if you see the green light your too late.
3) (mainly for bracket racing) Try to hit your pre-set marks every time. meaning dont necessary go for the redline everytime. notch it back just a bit lets say for me in the
MCS my shift point is 6,500 and not the 7k redline this give me a cusion incase i make an early mistake i can make it up. such as miss shift.
4) Power shifting takes practice. A real good PSer will not put that much wear on a tranny. One who is just learning risks the chance of ripping out the syncros and other parts.
these are some of the basics.. depending on the type of racing it can be bad or really not effect the car as much as typical everyday driving.
with Bracket racing it a testiment on going down the strip the same each time and not How fast i can go. even if its in a car that does 0-60 in 13 sec and the quarter in 19.9 at 65 mph. that car can win if it does it each time and every time.
Hope this helps and you enjoy the racing.
