| MINI2 Regular | Racers, what pads are you using? I have experience with EBC and Hawk on other cars, I need a good solid track pad since at 4000miles, the stockers are under 50% already due to two track days. Thanks! Jim DS/B "S" HERE!!!!! Sport package Premium package Harmon Kardon |

Offline | Mintex M1166 comes highly recommended from the guys doing the JCW Challenge in the U.K. From personal experience, forget the Greenstuff for anything other than road use. |

| MINI2 Regular | Well... I got impatient.. Bought the greens... Will have a write up after the next track day.. I had them on my 5 series with x-drilled rotors and they did well at Pocono coming down from 105ish in that relatively heavy car.. The reds lasted longer on that car, but seemed to make more dust, dunno, the reds only lasted a year of driving and one track event, same as the greens.. I guess we'll see.. (I also mixed the reds and greens on that car with good results, reds on the front and greens on the back, the extra bite of the greens balanced the car nicely, and the lower strss rears never overheated those pads). This was at least one pad compund ago, (two+ years) so I have no idea about the new ones. I hope I don't regret the greens, but I'm also tired of weekly rim cleaning just from driving to work.. Offline | Ferodo DS3000 - front and DS2500 rear. did one track day with stock pads and they really were beat, when we took them off. Trackday with the Ferodos inspected out very well aftereards. Great stopping power (with my Powerslot rotors), dust minimal. Some squealing (can't have everthing). |

| MINI2 Regular | For race duty our series uses Performance Friction 97 compound pads, heavy duty brake fluid (ie: ATE Superblue), and stock calipers with copious brake duct cooling (1 x 4cm hose and 1 x 9cm hose for each side). I'm guessing that's probably the best you can do with the stock calipers. [url=http://www.desmethracers.be]------ Ken Rahaim, # 11 ----- Cooper S Club Sport ---- MINI Cooper Challenge |

| MINI2 Regular | 1st track day with EBC green Inconclusive, during bedding in I experienced serious fade, but from 100mph they were ok after a good break in, (got them VERY hot a few times and let them cool for a while after 200+ miles of driving somewhat normally) Rain started shortly after the beginning of the school, so I was in the ABS more than max effort braking, but still got them to stink a good bit.. I actually like them for a street pad, looking forward to a fluid flush and some Super Blue to see how that works. Rotors are already tiny bit warped at 5000miles.. Found that the MINI is wonderfully controllable in a major oversteer condition at 65+ MPH in the rain on a downhill corner, just add trottle to existing counter steer and the back end returns to it's normal position nicely.. Did I mention I love this car? Jim DS/B "S" HERE!!!!! Sport package Premium package Harmon Kardon |

Offline | Tried the stock brakes for one track event (terrible). Next time out (in a few weeks) will be with Carbotech Panther pads on the front with Turner cross-drilled rotors and Motul fluid. Will likely remove the fog lights, too. Will let you know how that set-up works... -noam |

Offline | I just tossed out a spent set of Ferodo DS3000's (front's -- using stock rear). They lasted around 10 hours on track (4 days), and my rotors look like crap. I'm going to switch back to PF97's, which lasted longer on my BMW 318ti, with better rotor wear. Shawn '03 MCS -IB/W/Stripes/LapisBlue '02 MC -IB/W Launch #467/500 -gone to new home |

Offline | For race use the only way to go is PFC 97. I've tried most of the others out there and they just don't compare. On my two race MINI's I put full weekend worth of testing, practice, qualifying and 3 hour races on them with no fade and little wear. Contact me I can get you front and rears at a good price. email: Tony@nuzzomotorsports.com Tony |

Offline | That pretty much confirms what I already new. The PFs are really good on my BMW. I run 97 front, and 90s rear with great success. Weren't you just inquiring about a truck and trailer up in Canada...Baker Racing? That's a buddy of mine. Shawn '03 MCS -IB/W/Stripes/LapisBlue '02 MC -IB/W Launch #467/500 -gone to new home |

| MINI2 Regular | Track day in the dry, Greens with stock fluid... Not so hot, boiled the fluid over every session, it's now a nice dark gold color.. Will be flushing and switching to Motul or the like, brakes faded after very hard use, (if hard on them turn 10 and 1, then turn 4 was exciting) but it could have been the fluid too, noticed early ABS intervention when the brakes were really hot, when I get the time and knowledge, I'll post a few videos from the track (made my own camera mount using the rear seat headrests), you can tell when the brakes went into ABS as the camera shakes a bit at the end of the back straight.. Looks like I ran anywhere from 1:15-1:18 at BeaveRun (using camera timer), kind of disappointing since R&T supposedly got 1:10 from a Z4 3.0, and an S2000.. Still using all stock MINI parts except the air filter and EBC Greens, (including runflats) Dunno if that would make that much of a difference though.. Got waxed by what looked like a mildly modified TTRX7 on Pole Positions.. Any idea what good street tires (like 215/45 Ecsta MX) would drop per lap over stock runflats? Thanks, Jim DS/B "S" HERE!!!!!
