Does anybody know about the MCS being entered into Competitive rally races around the world? It seems to me that the MCS would be great for rally races, but I haven't heard much.

I did hear, however, that the Monte Carlo won't allow the MINI for the forseeable future because there isn't an acceptable class for it to race in. Is that true?

MINI Cooper S's have recently competed in the new (2nd year) Targa Newfoundland Rally and I believe they've also entered the most established Targas in New Zealand and Tasmania.

MINI Coopers and S's fall into rally classes in most areas but not the WRC class for a variety of reasons. There are some rallying in western Canada and the United States in SCCA club rally in production classes.

Monte Carlo only has entry classes for A8 (WRC) and A6 (JWRC). I think a MINI Cooper (not S, naturally aspirated only) could qualify for A6 but that would require homologation, something we haven't seen any indication of from BMW AG.
