Well it looks like another fast and furious season lays ahead.
Some regular faces, some new, The famililar club Coopers, a whole bunch of new S's, two new girl racers.
Who looked most impressive out on the track, Racer (yes, he's back) and Speedster in the club class with last years champion Mark Speller and Tony Skelton in the S's.
The S's were about 4 to 5 seconds quicker that the Clubbies around Goodwood.
The S's were certainly taking the last corner chicane a great deal quicker with their larger wheels and wider tyres. And boy did they sound good. The S's have lost the rasp exhaust note on acceleration that the Coopers have, they sound a whole lot smoother through the rev range and gear changes.
The boy racers in us are going to love the new alloy rear spoiler John Coopers have fitted to the S's.
A great day was had by all. Roll on the first meeting.
AndyW. You will be greatly missed this season. But your checked flag car graphics live on with a number of new cars who wish to copy your success last year and it was noticed your Mini dealer sponsor seems to be on the Mark Speller car.

Wecome back Racer.
Re-shelled, re-built, new team, a mix of new and old sponsors, yes it is a new colour, a darker shade of Kwak green.

Always thought gold was reserved for World Champions. Well we all have to have some kind of goal ahead.

Great work as always tumblewood and good to see you again - Certainly would like some of the pics at higher res I'll contact you with the filenames when I've had a look through them all - It's a good job that film has turned digital between you and SPeedsters Dad we could have spent our whole years budget at Supasnaps!!!

PS Green is slightly lighter more yellow but hey kermit green is kermit green....

Cheers Tumblewood, I'll miss being out there too! I'm going to make it as a spectator at some of the races though, so I'll catch up with you sometime.

Glad the chequers idea has caught on! Thanks for the heads-up on Mark nicking my sponsor - I should get an intro fee I reckon!

Racer & Speedster - nice graphics for the team, excellent stuff! Glad you were amongst the fastest...

Just found this thread. Im looking forward to my first season in the JCC, and I certainly enjoyed Goodwood ! Nice pics by the way tumblewood, like the one of my roof !!!

Speaking to JCW today I hear that the JCW Cooper S cars were hitting 130 down the final straight. No wonder they came through the chicane quicker !!!

Just try that in the wet !!!

Trying to get a set of the S brakes fitted but you boys have nicked them all !! Still I hear that they performed well at Goodwood any feed back on them would be great.

Entered for Wiscombe on the Saturday 24th. Sunday was full - too many JCW Challernge cars I assume !! Still it will be interesting to see how times compare. Any tips for the Hill from those who have been up it last year ??
