I wish team Qvick all the best of luck -

Question who thinks that this car is still a MINI ?

How far can you go before you've created a new car with the same vague shape as a production model ?

I think it looks a bit like a 911 from the front actually.

when is a MINI/Mini, not..?

At Mini Challenge, Laguna Seca, Ca, last Novenber, Huffacre and one other, GT5 Minis, weren't even listed, as Minis, but, as a Huffacre, and another name, nasty air dams & about 4" off the ground, wickedly fast, though....MiniMania's MINI came in 7th, I think, out of 30-some, stock Cooper engine

I love it.

I also noticed they put the indicators into the the "headlamps" as was originally proposed on prototype MINIs. (Viscount Charles, are you listening? )

Thanks guys.

The mini is racing in Belcar, TB class. Finished fifth on sunday. I'll publish the story as soon as it's looked over by the others.

If Paul still wants to do a Q&A, you can direct any questions you have to him. I'll make sure they get answered.

Fifth! Good finish for a first race as long as there were more than five cars.

Love to see more pics. The first one in the article has been "set as background" on my computer.

Good luck in your next race!

Wow !!!. this is the MANS area of the forum (no offence to the ladies of course). That looks fabulous, AND they've come up with their own fix for the Windows problem.

Wonderful stuff.

And BruceK, what a shame those indicators didn't get implimented in the production car. They look fabulous.!!

As a matter of fact, 5 of the 10 cars in TB dropped out. So you could say we were last. The car spend some considerable time in the pits b/c of a broken stick shift, and later on the power steering gave up. But we were pretty close, and drove some very good times. If it wasn't for the nasty problems, our position would've been much better.
In total, 19 cars dropped out. The fact that our car didn't, two days after it drove its first mile, says a lot about the potential of the little motor.

B/c we weren't able to test before the event, the set up of the car was far from perfect. We'll do some proper testing, and be on top of the ranks in no time.

Paul should be publishing the race report any time now. For more pictures, see this gallery.

And I have exciting some unofficial news. A team was so inspired by our Mini, they have begone their own project. A Clio V6 with a 485hp version of the 2.0l V6 BTCC Laguna engine.

oh yeah, if you want any high res. pictures of the mini, mail me at: catteeuw@motorsportvortex.com

Send me the url of the picture(s) you want from the motorsportvortex gallery, and I'll send you the high res. version of it. Make sure you have enough space on you're account. I've been answering high res requests all day, and some can't be delivered b/c the pictures are very large (up to 1mb).

I can try and put one up. There were a lot of cameras around the car (professional and otherwise). But I don't have the technology to do so, and I'd have to search for the material. So it would take a while b/c it would have to go through other people.

But I'll try...
