Offline | TVR overtakes Racer...! Courtesy of another Andy who came on the Easytrack day at Brands last week, here's footage of Racer being caught (but only after a bit of a chase!) by a Tuscan. Given the Tuscan has 3.6 litres and 350-odd bhp against our 1.6 125hp MINI's, it's not a bad showing I reckon. In fact, you can see quite clearly that he only catches up on the straights through sheer power - in the bends, the distance between them stays constant. Cheers all Andy Last edited by AndyW : Apr 24th, 2002 at 03:42 AM. |

| Sponsor,Moderator & Racer | Brilliant - I'll be showing it on Screen 3 of the motorhome portable multiscreen (30,000 capacity) on Saturday night ! ![]() That great footage Andy well done for digging it out I'm sure I pulled out 50ft on him through paddock! How did our own attempts at in-car stuff come out - it was a shame your batteries seemed to run out every time I passed you ![]() |

Offline | Really well - I've transferred it to VHS so we can bore everyone else rigid on Saturday . I'm bringing the vid cam as well, but not sure when I'll be able to use it cos we'll all be driving one after the other. Have to wait & see I guess.A PS Just watched the clip again - although the MINI's great, when you see how long the Tuscan takes to get past the Datsun (which we whizzed past like he was standing still!), maybe it's the nut behind the wheel that has the biggest bearing on how fast you go... ![]() Last edited by AndyW : Apr 23rd, 2002 at 04:49 PM. |

| MINI2 Master | ive watched it a couple of times and I agree Andy that its a lot to do with the driver and not the car, He has bags of horsepower in that car, yet does not heal and toe and breaks very early, from what ive found the Tuscan breaks are very good. Going up hailwoods in the Elise we would not break until right under the bridge, and his lines for Surtees!! but who am i to judge, but good footage and very gentlemanly to let him through there! ![]() |

| Sponsor,Moderator & Racer | I think the Tuscan driver is Eddie Irvine or something like that he looks really really really good to me and with all that horsepower it would obviously take a very skillfull driver in a much lower powered car to stay ahead of him for just one corner Speedster: I think TVR drivers are all horses TVRMan, ExTVRMan THE TVRMan makes no odds to SuperDooperMINIRacerMan |

Offline | Hi EB If you like! I should warn you, I once took a bloke for a ride on a trackday in my Griff, and he made me stop after 3 laps cos he was about to chuck up! Seriously, if you'd like to turn up to one of the trackdays we've got booked up, you're more than welcome to come for a spin. I've got some incar video of Brands last week which I'll show you on Saturday - that should put you off! ![]() Also seriously, if you wouldn't mind taking some video footage/still piccies at Wiscombe, that'd be great - I'm sure Paul would appreciate some photos to go with the 10,000-word report Racer will have done by Sunday morning! ![]() Cheers Andy |
