| MINI2 Master | Wiscombe Park - John Cooper Challenge Result I will be emailing Paul a full report of the Wiscombe Park Hill Climb, including some piccis and an Interview I got with Tiff Needell! Barney Craggs won the overall first round of the John Cooper Challenge, with our very own Racer coming in third The second of the two timed runs were hampered by driving rain, which meant that AndyW could not improve on his first time and came in 12th. Liz Biagioni came 14th and Stephen Campbell came 15th, after going off at the Gate during his second run just as the rain was coming down. Tiff was there for 5th Gear who will be showing the event in 3 weeks time and as I said I managed to get a few words and piccis off the man himself. Full report and piccis to appear in the news section shortly. ![]() |

Offline | Nice one EB, look forward to reading your report! Thanks for coming down (Rob too), it was great to see you and thanks for your support (and the use of your boot!) - and v impressed you had the bottle to ask Tiff for an interview - and that he said yes! ![]() Congrats to Racer, the boy done good - obviously the training I gave him at Brands had some effect Considering there were several experienced racers there, it's a blimmin good result - Barney, the guy who came first, is a novice too, the second placed man being a chap with several seasons behind him, so to have all the other non-novices behind Racer is excellent. Shame about the rain messing up my final run, but that's the luck of the draw (sorry, DK ) - thing was, it wasn't the rain that was the problem, it's that it was getting too dark to wear my kewl shades! Til it rained, I was doing ok (5th, then 4th in practice) and improving my times with the rest of them. Oh well - I guess I'll have to wait til next time. Might have stopped sulking by then too ![]() And shame about Stephen's off - don't worry mate, car will be good as new before long... See you at the next one! Cheers all Andy Last edited by AndyW : Apr 28th, 2002 at 05:12 PM. |

| Sponsor,Moderator & Racer | Well I'm back looking forward to EB(and Robs) report - great to have the support guys thanks very much for making the effort Fortunately the rain only affected me leaving the paddock Sunday morning where my trailer had sunk into the newly formed bog! Shame Andy didn't get a clean final run but as DC himself says "that's motorsport'" hopefully next time the playing field will be more level (pun intended)Waiting now to see if any of the official photies show MINI2 stickers EB if you have any trouble with your report I'm sure my wife can feel you in on a few minor details she has heard the split tiumes and talk through of the final run so many times she is threatening to leave ![]() EB full results can be found at Wooldbridge Motor Club site |

Offline | It'd be good maybe if they reversed the order we went in next time (if the weather's changeable) - otherwise we tail-end-charlies are that much more likely to be disadvantaged again - and we never had an advantage from running last (in the earlier runs, the track didn't dry out at all in the 5 minutes it took for the batch of MINIs to go). Oh well, guess I'm clutching at straws ![]() See you next time Racer - and may the best man win (not just the driest )!A |

Offline | This is a bit sad but it didn't take long to do as we were emailed the data by the organizers, and Racer convinced me someone else might want to see this (can't think who, mind you ), so here's a graph showing everyone's times over the 4 runs on Saturday: You can see that Racer (Glen) was improving his time consistently through the day (if he'd had 50 more goes, it would've taken him no time at all! ). I started off quicker for the first three, but was only improving by a small amount each time (and made a mistake on my third run at the hairpin), so we might've ended up at about the same time - maybe . You can see the effect the rain had on the last 5 runners for Run 4 (including me) - they're all in the top right hand corner around 60 seconds instead of the low 50's.(That's enough over-analysing - ed )Still awake? Cheers Andy "straw-clutcher" W |

Offline | Hi folks! Great day at Wiscombe and good to have all the support. Well done Racer, we're proud of you The rain caught me out on my final run.I'm OK, but my car is still at JCW for a makeover! Looks like I'll need a new radiator among other bits. I had to use public transport today...the pits! At least it got me an interview with Tiff ![]() |

| Sponsor,Moderator & Racer | Stephen Glad to hear all's well and the car is on it's way to making full recovery - It was a great weekend and start to the season - Looking forward to Lydden and Abingdon - Looking at Andy's analysis and bringing your time down proportionaly I reckon we were due for a close thing - Hopefully Abingdon will be kinder to cars (ie cones not gate posts ) |

Offline | Well done to Andy & Racer for winning the cash. Well deserved. It's great that two of the 'lads' did so well at the first round. Speaking of rounds, it now looks like the drinks are on you! My car is liable to be out of action for another couple of weeks, so need a bus pass for school Looking forward to testing at Lydden but meantime have to concentrate on my AS level exams which will fall either side of the Abingdon weekend, so the pressure is on ![]() |

Offline | Cheers Stephen - sorry to hear about your car though Bus pass? Aaaaggghhhh! Anyway, looking forward to Lydden too - see you there!EB - Racer won the £100 award for most improved time (from his best practice to his best timed run) - congrats to him - and I also won £100 for being the only competitor daft enough to stay for the prize-giving even though I hadn't won anything (aka the Mintex Spirit & Enthusiasm award or something ) Mind you, you stayed too - you should've definitely won something too! Beers are on us at Abingdon (shandy for you Stephen )A |
