tire fit vs front shock

For Garfield, et al who want to see if 215 tires fit.
Here's a pic of a Spax suspension from Mini Madness .

note how close the tire is to the front strut.

I should have pics of my Cooper in a couple more weeks.

Good pics,

Does that mean 215's fit on Standard suspension or not? I'm guessing not and that it would require some spacers...

the wheels on that car are not standard (so who knows what tyres are on it), neither is the suspension. So my guess is you'd have to look at your own wheel/tyre/suspension setup to make that judgement.

I've had a look and by my reckoning there's about 1cm between my 195 tyres and the suspension. Can't work out if this is a sh*t guard or the actual suspension though but will have a better look when I can. My guess is 215's wouldn't fit without spacers, or they would but they'd rub like a nun...

Still, some 10mm spacers can't be that expensive?

you might wanna ask george (gmehall) about it. i was lucky enough to drive it. the wheel/tire is definitely not standard and i believe they had to use wheel spacers to clear the calipers on the aftermarket brakes.

DEFINITELY NOT STOCK

suspension...

http://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1104278.phtml

you're talking full race suspension, tuned and matched springs and totally adjustable corner weight, ride height SPAX coilovers for 17" RSS wheels with Kumho tires. Very sweet.

Squid you know that coilovers aren't allowed in H Stock class ax..or maybe you aren't an AXer?

This picture is just to caution people who are
thinking about ordering tires and wheels before test
fitting them that there isn't a lot of extra clearance
between the shock and the tire.

I am an autoxer, and run the stock sport suspension
for now. Maybe a SSP w adjustable Konis, soon.
