Instead, just grab the discs with your hands, your hands are much bigger than the pads and so won't boil the brake fluid

P.S. I am practicing before Abingdon - I 'borrowed' some cones from the roadworks up the road and I'm going to lay them out around the living room with a remote control car!! (Sound familiar?)
