Offline | Ok folks, take this with a grain of salt, but here's what my G-Tech came up with. It took me several runs to get the launch right. But, when I finally did, I was quite impressed. Ambient Temp: 45 deg F Tires: 215/45R16 Falken Azenis (sticky) Unsprung Weight: approx 14lbs less per corner than 17's GEAR RATIO IS LOWERED SLIGHTLY BECAUSE OF LOWER DIAMETER TIRE - 3.4% lower Pressures: 37psi (sticky for autox, too much for drag) Best two 0-60 times were 6.57 and 6.54. I wasn't paying attention to 1/4 mile times, but the last 0-60 I took, I followed through with a 1/4 mile of 15.14 at 94mph. Now, I understand that this isn't perfectly accurate, but from past experience with other cars, the numbers were close to the magazines times (if not right on). My Audi allroad times were much faster than Audi's numbers, but that wasn't a shock either. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | Not a chance from me, since I don't own them anymore. But, I would venture to guess you wouldn't do any better than 6.75 or worse than 7.0. I'm trying to recall which run it was, but I'm about 90% sure I ran a 6.99 with ASC turned ON! If that's the case, the stickiness of the tires wouldn't matter, but the unsprung weight would. If I eventually get the chance to throw the G-Tech on someone elses with stock wheels, I'll do it. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | I don't feel they're as real as the others, plus, it's more of a pain to set it up and find a place to do it. The Falkens will affect that even more as well. If I get a chance, I'll post them though. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | Just the wheels and tires. On one hand, they have an advantage because of much less weight and VERY sticky, and lower gearing. On the other hand, the were pumped way to high giving a smaller contact patch. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | I appreciate your posts very much. Thanks. On the launch--specifically what did you have to do to get the best results? Also, were those tires on 6.5" rims and have you detected any rubbing? Have you autoX'd this setup? Who made your rims and what did they cost? I am planning to get an extra set of 16" stock rims and either put Kumho's or Falkens on them for autoX.(Don't have my S yet.) What would you expect the difference to be between V700's and the Azenis. (I currently have Azenis on a 914-4 and am rather impressed but am not competing well with the guys that have the Hoosiers or V700's.) Thoughts? Again your info is great. Keep it coming. |

Offline | Breeze? Don't recall much of one. "Track" consisted of the shoulder of a flat two-lane highway. VERY Slight hill, but I erred on the uphill side. Waited for all cars to pass, hit the button, dropped the clutch and gradually pulled out onto the road. So hell, there may have even been less traction because of shoulder debrit, but not much less by what my eyes could tell. Am I giving my own competitors my research?? Should I be paid for this? ![]() Quickly released the clutch at 3k, never took my foot off the floor, and at about 4k it hooked completely up and took off. 16x6.5 rims with 45mm offset. Enkei RPO-1 wheels, retail for $150/each. The Falkens are NOT autox tires unless you're in STS or STX. They're close, but not enough to beat a Kumho car. I like them, but will still run my Hoosiers at local events (on identical rims, bought two sets). - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | Garfield Personally I am no competition in that I will not get out of the SE region for a number of reasons. I have searched for over an hour on the internet and have not found Enkei RPO-1's in 16x6.5. Where did you buy them? Thanks. |

Offline | As brief as possible, I got them straight from Enkei, but the sold the rest of them to a distributor with stores in the West. They're being discontinued except for special orders from Japan. Call Enkei and ask them where they went. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | I wouldn't count on lightweights from Panasport though, only the style. They aren't heavy, but they're certainly not light for the price. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | It stops timing at the 1/4 mile, so unless I can hit 100 before then, I doubt it. It was still pulling strong to the 94mph at the 1/4, so maybe in the 18's? I don't know. I shouldn't really try to guess any better than the next person. It can do braking from 60mph at well, I've just never done it, I'll have to give it a try. - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |
