New shell cost ?

Anyone had cause to ask for the cost of a complete shell ie bonnet doors boot + shell

Interested to know to see how much insurance cover is really worth - With cover being £500 and xs £2000 I'm thinking a whole shell might be less than £2500

Painting / Fitting / Labour etc - all down to me / covered by sponsorship so I am only worried about pure parts costs for a shell (understand in a heavy incident may need mechanicals as well but so be it) and that is £500 a race Dom!

I'd say over the course of the season it's probably better to go uninsured then!! £500 a race?!? that's just silly money!
