Offline | MINIs storm Virgina ProSolo MINI Coopers took places 1 through 4 in this weekend's Virgina Pro Solo . (MINIs also took 6th and 7th). MINI Cooper Si is not a typo. The si means SILVER, the re means RED, etc. 8th thru 15 in H-stock was picked up by misc. BMWs and Hondas. These was no sign of the Cooper S in D-stock. Offline | Garfield What is your opinion on the Ecsta’s? I just recieved my spair set of 16" wheels and of course the VictorRacers don't come in the correct size for the Mini. Incidentally congrats on your win. FlaggerStan |

Offline | The Ecsta's are fine, they just have a little more tread squirm initially because of the new tread pattern. Kumho is slowly phasing in the "new" compound on certain sizes, but it will be luck of the draw to know which. I wouldn't hesitate to get Kumho Ecsta V700's in 205/45R16's for local events and even the Nationals. I've run a lot of runs on them now (on borrowed Coopers) and couldn't say I noticed a difference. Per at GRM has some good points. I rethought the idea when I was down at Petersburg about the reclass and agree that it may not happen. Look at Rob Carpenter's times in G Stock versus mine. BUT, again, completely stock MINI, on Kumho's, with a new driver on the National scene as well as little seat time in the car. Give me a few years, $3k in shocks, Hoosier Autocross Compounds, performance exhaust, plugs, wires, coil, and fluids. He didn't know Russell just hopped in the car for 4 runs. Doesn't have a clue who I am. The MINI has MORE than 115hp, that's already proven. Comparing it to any other H Stock car is a joke in chassis regidity, suspension choices, and transitional response. Oh, and the Cooper can run a 6.5" wide wheel with a 215... - 2005 G Stock '05 MINI or it's back to a Miata in C Stock - 2004 G Stock 2nd place Pro Solo, 9th Place Solo II - 2003 STX 5th place Pro Solo, 6th Place Solo II - 2002 H Stock Pro Solo National Champion |

Offline | Russell Blume was in the MINI! HAHA! Just two weeks ago I raced him in the Mirrorkhana at Salina in his BMW 318 and he was all **** and vinegar about how the new Mini's didn't 'worry' him! What happened to his BMW? Got the Nology wires on order and Rogue Engineeering's catback coming in June. Still looking for a suitable shock and a tweak for the front bar. Congrats Brian! Helluva job! Offline | AHAHAAH even better...the day before i talked to him (blume). he said no way would he drive a FWD MINI. no way, no how. of course the next day i looked over to brian, and told him to look and see who was driving. sure enough, it was russ blume. it was worrying at first, but he wasnt able to run anything that was scary against brian's runs...matter of fact he hit a cone with the mini once i think. that said, i think he was having differential problems with his bmw, and he wasnt speaking down on the mini. it was just his preference of rwd.
