Unhappy KM to MPH conversion - HELP

I've just brought my Cooper S from Australia to the UK and need to get it through the SVA test. My speedo is in kph and I need to convert it to mph. BMW say it can't be done because my speedo is the small dial on top of the steering wheel where the UK rev counter is. Can anyone help?

speedometer

It would be crude, but you could pull off the face plate, and insert a paper dial, or add little sticky numbers in KPH???

thanks jdewey
I've just got my daughter to make me a new face on the computer. She's done the conversions and printed it on a cd label, size is perfect. I just have to hope it passes the SVA test now so watch this space. I did find a graphics company who said they would do the same thing, but my daughter figured she could do the same thing for free.

mph kph

I am curious about this. I thought only the U.S. was still clinging to the old "English" measures ??

I have a 1978 (Australian) Leyland Mini and it is in KPH.
