Bloody ell that was quick!!!

Thanks for putting the pictures up as quick as you have

Good day had by all i think, hope your car is feeling better today Stephen.

We look like a load of loonies in the third picture, my hair is all over the place, Andy in his now familiar shades on arms crossed pose, Glen sprawled out on the bonnet, obviously feeling delirious after driving me around in the afternoon hehe

Great pics, sorry I couldn't make it, just been made redundant so I'm on the job hunt trail and saving money as much as possible...

Anyone need a Systems Administrator or Web Designer in the Kent area?

the MINI has gone...

Great piccies Stephen - Can't make too many comments - walls have ears

Great day good to see everyone especially the Mini2 contingent - Eliseboys not easily enough scared for our liking then again...

Andy needed a new strimmer blade and I've got a dodgy gearbox so obviously we weren't goinga s quick as normal

Where was LizzieB??

Like the T-shirt Racer I guess that makes my friend Fidel Castro...?

Good day yesterday, still feeling a bit knackered by it, think the sun got to me. Biggest disappointment was the coolness Eliseboy showed while being taken round by me & Racer Don't know bout Racer, but I was pedalling pretty hard and he didn't bat an eyelid! (although I told EB I was only going at 7/10ths, and he believed me - for a second )

Managed to get through two front left tyres (admittedly they were both pretty knackered to start with ), but at least I didn't have any nasty mechanical probs (touch wood) - sorry you guys (Racer & Speedster - and a couple of others too) had problems though. Hope they're sorted soon.

monsta - sorry to hear about your situation too Good luck with finding something.

LOL!!!

you guys make me laugh

had a roar on the track really had a fun time,

was you trying to scare me? got to say i enjoyed it loads and wasnt worried because i had full confidence in your driving

didnt you notice the big GRIN i had every time i got out

you got to remember as well that in my lotus driving days i did a few track days and when you go down clearways at 115 approaching clarke and break very late with the grass approaching fast you can put up with most things

although it is a different experience in the passenger seat

I think we should switch seats EB - 'cause my driving scares me most days and as you noticed I'm not brave enough to get in Andy's car

Only one new gearbox in the country and thats taken so either doing Gurston with no synchro or using the 'T' car

Whats that saying "you break it you buy it!"

Anyone not using their car at the w/e

The official answer 'don't know' waiting for definitive yes or no before making a decision -

Car repairs

After thrashing the car at Goodwood all day I broke down on the way back home. The drive shaft failed causing the steering wheel to violently vibrate and there was a very loud knocking noise.
Luckily it broke before I got onto the M23 meaning my dad and I were able to stop at a nearby service station and ring the RAC. After 2 hours of waiting the RAC failed to turn up so we called MINI Accindent Management. It was about 11.00pm before a tow truck turned up and matters got worse when we discovered the car was too low to get onto the back of the truck. We therefore had to wait another hour for a 'low loader' truck to turn up, and guess what.....the car was still too low to get onto the back of this truck!!!
We ended up getting home at 1.00am after having to leave the car stranded at the service station. The next day a special tow truck picked up the car and dropped it off at our friendly BMW dealership where it is awaiting parts. Hopefully it will be ready before Gurston Down!

Bloody ell!!!

I knew it wasnt well when we was driving back but didnt realise it was that close to going!!!

thats an outragous response time too, and you would think that they would know to send a low loader

still, at least you havnt got to drive it down to get sorted on Friday now Chris

Hope all is well by the weekend

Stephen

Sorry to hear about that - If I'd realised you could have driven mine and I would have trailered it!

Can you get the parts in time - I tried to source a gearbox but only one in the country and it wasn't for sale! so looks like I'll just have to use syncromush for Gurston!

AndyW - you could start a bidding war for hire cars!

Maybe I should charge championship points, seeing as I'm not going to get any myself! So, who's going to start the bidding at, say 5 points? Stephen? Racer? Maybe Graham Parsons with his dodgy syncro too?

Just kidding - but if they'll let you, you're welcome to use mine in the afternoon - as long as yours is driveable enough to get me to the church on time!

Good news for us - Victoria dealership telephoned at 7pm to say the car should be ready tomorrow evening
Have to say a few prayers as they say they have yet to hear from BMW if the work is covered on warranty - seems like they have told them the car has been racing
We were hoping they would keep that quiet.
Have you seen Autocar today - especially the letters regarding unreliable MINI's on page 34 - seems like we are not the only ones to be having problems

And have you studied the photo of Chris Chilton on page 73 (secret testing?) Well done to him on the day
Hope you can make it to Gurston, Glen, but bring your wet tyres!

Bad luck Eliseboy. Looks like we shall have to do our own report from Gurston. Essential that you come to Silverstone which should be THE Challenge event of the year.
Other news: Apparently even JCW had problems after Goodwood. Someone borrowed their trailer to take a broken down car away and subsequently pranged it that evening.
So now JCW have a stranded car of their own that they had to leave at Goodwood

Andrew Stevens is apparently another casualty for Saturday - Body panels have only just arrived so he wont be attending add to that Nick Smith because of his wedding

I reckon we should be able to compete in any car we want - bagsy I use the Schueys Ferrari -

With cars just falling apart who needs Silverstone eh! - Wacky races here we come - we'll be the ant hill mob pedalling around at this rate

On a more positive note you can use another competitors car at Gurston subject to some terms and conditions - Andy - hugely kind offer I'll chat by email / phone with you tommorrow
