MINI John Cooper Works GP Shows Off its Radical Aerodynamics – Video
John Cooper Works GP was unveiled back in May, flexing an impressive Nurburgring lap time
of 8 minutes and 23 seconds. The British automaker figured it was time to show off the radical aerodynamics that helped achieve that time.
Taking the new JCW GP model into the wind tunnel, MINI talks about how it’s the “most radical model within the MINI family,” and how it is “truly motorsports driven.” They demonstrate this by showing just how finely tuned its aerodynamics are, which has reduced air drag by six-percent, resulting in lower CO2 emissions and a higher top speed. According to the automaker, the front-axle lift has been lowered by 30-percent while it also managed to reduce the lift forces on the rear axle by 90-percent.
The result? A MINI with “even more driving pleasure.” With a limited production of just 2,000 units, we hope we get an opportunity to put it to the test.
