Guessing the product roll-out strategy in the MINI lineup does not take an advanced degree in marketing. As a result, it comes as little surprise that the hipster-ific brand has just announced a new John Cooper Works version of its recently revealed Paceman.

The coupe-styled crossover in JCW performance trim boasts the usual list of upgrades from custom bodywork, interior components, as well as suspension modifications with larger wheels and tires. But what really turns this sport-cross into a hot hatch of sorts is the turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder under the hood, delivering a peppy 215 hp and 207 lb-ft of torque – though as much as 221 lb-ft in an overboost mode.

The result, is a 0-62 mph time of 7 seconds, and thanks to the brand’s notorious fun-to-drive dynamics and a grippy All4 AWD system, it’s certain to be as much fun as it looks.
